QuickStarts Qld was a capital investment program to accelerate planned construction and new acquisition projects to deliver a range of social housing.
The first round of QuickStarts Qld closed in January 2022, with exceptional responses from across Queensland. The second round opened on 1 December 2023 and closed on 12 March 2024.
QuickStarts Qld – round 2 soughtproposals from registered community housing providersto increase the supply of social housing in target regions through either new construction projects or the acquisition of new off-the-plan, turn-key projects.
Similar to the first round of QuickStarts Qld, round 2 also achieved a phenomenal response from the community housing sector.
Projects in delivery supported by QuickStarts Qld include:
60 social and affordable homes in Nerang for eligible seniors looking to downsize and people living with disability
27 social homes in Southport for eligible seniors, including seniors looking to downsize
43 social homes in Booval for eligible senior women, including seniors looking to downsize, women with disability, and women escaping domestic and family violence
75 social homes in Deception Bay for First Nations people, including people experiencing or at risk of homelessness, older women, seniors and people with disability.
